The winter, and spring, of 2018-2019 is one for the record books in Eau Claire. Forecasters say yesterday’s two-and-a-half inches of snow puts the city at 91 inches of snow for the season. That’s the snowiest winter on record. The winter of 1996-97 is second with just over 89 inches of snow. Forecasters say Eau Claire could see even more snow today and tomorrow.
There’s still at least another day and a half of snow and ice on the way for western Wisconsin. Forecasters say folks from Eau Claire to the north woods are under a Winter Storm Warning till 10 a.m. tomorrow. The National Weather Service says Eau Claire can expect another five to 12 inches of snow, as well as ice and blowing winds.
