The state will implement Medicaid work requirements until further notice.
This decision made by Wisconsin Medicaid Director Jim Jones comes despite a federal judge striking down similar rules in two other states earlier this week. The move means people in Wisconsin will need to volunteer or work to continue to receive medical coverage. Jones said for now “the state law is the state law,” but he is waiting for more guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services with respect to the waiver aspect.
