WI POLITICAL NOTES: PLUMPS AT THE PUMP, SCIENTISTS UNLEASHED

Governor Tony Evers says he doesn’t expect that much pushback to raising the state’s gas tax.  Evers yesterday said that people across Wisconsin know that the roads need work, and they know they’re going to have to pay for that work.  The governor is proposing to raise the state’s gas tax by eight cents-a-gallon.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says he’s going to ‘unleash’ scientists on lawmakers in Madison.  Evers spoke to a couple of hundred conservationists and environmentalists at the Capitol yesterday.  He said the Department of Natural Resources has scientists for a reason, and he intends to use them.  Evers says former Governor Scott Walker made it ‘risky’ for scientists to speak-up in the past.
