UW SCIENTISTS MAKE CANCER RESEARCH BREAKTHROUGH

Two scientists at the University of Wisconsin say they’ve made a breakthrough in figuring out how a normal cell stops protecting against cancer.

UW scientists Richard Anderson and Vincent Cryns this week said a lipid messenger in cells is key to whether a cell will protect against cancer or allow the disease to run rampant.  They say their research opens-up a new field of study in cancer research, and hopefully brings doctors a step closer to finding a cure.
