Police are continuing to investigate an officer-involved shooting that took place between the towns of Augusta and Fairchild.
Police say a suspicious person began fighting with Augusta police officers and an Eau Claire County sheriff’s deputy on Saturday. Non-lethal forces were used to subdue the suspect but they didn’t work and the person was shot and killed. A police officer and sheriff’s deputy have both been put on administrative leave.
