A cut in line AT El Patio leads to a stabbing on Water Street. The ECPD updates us on a case from the weekend:
On March 3rd at 2:40 am, Officers were on Water St. monitoring the crowd when they were made aware of a stabbing that occurred in the 400 block Water St. An ECPD Officer was immediately able to locate the incident on public space cameras and find the suspect fleeing the area. ECFD EMS arrived on scene to help the victim and transported him to a local hospital. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect, Jason A Fox 24yo, a few blocks away.
Officers learned through witnesses that Fox became upset with the victim and his friend’s after he thought they cut him off in line to get a burrito at El Patio. El Patio ended up closing, and when the victim exited the restaurant, he was confronted by Fox who was upset about not getting his burrito. Fox and the victim verbally argued with each other until the victim was stabbed in the chest area. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
Fox was arrested and charged with Substantial Battery, Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
