The cost of snow removal in Eau Claire County is piling up. County Highway Commissioner Jon Johnson says the cost for snow removal between February 3rd and February 9th was more than 313-thousand dollars. The figure includes plow operations on both county and state highways.
Johnson says county highway drivers clocked more than 750 hours of overtime at a cost of 19-thousand dollars.
Eau Claire road crews are spending time clearing snow from the sides of the streets. Worker started early yesterday morning and worked most of the day to move snow from the sides of roads, as well as off sidewalks and trails. The city’s street manager says crews will continue working on improving conditions.
