FUR your viewing pleasure, The Westminster Dog Show gets underway today at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Two new dog breeds will make their debut this year, the Nederlandse kooikerhondje [[ NAY-dehr-lahn-seh KOY-kehr-huhnd-jeh ]] and the Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen [[ grif-ON vahn-dee-AHN ]]. The kooikerhondje originates in the Netherlands and looks like a mix between an English Springer Spaniel and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The show has some three-thousand dogs competing and runs February 11th and 12th.
