A new crossing signal system looks to transform intersections in Eau Claire. City officials installed new posts using rectangular rapid flashing beacons which draw more attention from cars.
Intersections of Earl Street and South Farwell as well as at Harding Avenue and Jefferson Street feature heavy foot traffic. The systems cost the city between eight-thousand and ten-thousand dollars to buy and install. More new signal systems may start to pop up in Eau Claire if these first few are successful.
