COMPLAINTS FILED IN SUN PRAIRIE EXPLOSION

State utility regulators are being asked to weigh possible penalties against the drilling company involved in the deadly Sun Prairie natural gas explosion.  A complaint was filed by USIC Locating Services, the company hired to mark the locations of underground pipes before last summer’s explosion.  USIC claims the drilling company violated state law by not notifying the state utility call center before starting work.

The blast killed one firefighter and injured others.  The drilling company could face up to 500-thousand dollars in fines if officials find multiple violations.
