Police are investigating after thousands of dollars in quarters were stolen from Chippewa Falls apartment complexes. Property managers at three apartment complexes reported last week that washer-dryer units on site were broken into.
Suspects escaped with between three thousand and five thousand dollars worth of quarters. Authorities say the suspects drilled out the locks on the coin boxes of selected machines with specific locks and stole the coins, showing knowledge of the machines.
