NEW LAWS ON THE WI BOOKS

Three controversial bills are now law.

Governor Scott Walker signed Senate Bills 883, 884 and 886 into law today and says the bottom line is the bills do nothing to fundamentally diminish executive authority.  Opponents claim the bills will trim the authority of incoming governors.  However, the most important powers of the governor remain intact, including the veto power which is considered one of the strongest for any governor in the country.
