BREAK INS LEAD TO PUBLIC WARNING IN MENOMONIE

December 9, 2018, at approximately 1:58 PM the Menomonie Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of an unknown male subject that unlawfully entered an apartment located at 1420 2nd Street West during
the morning hours of the same day. The subject left the apartment after being observed by one of the occupants.

As the MPD was investigating the aforementioned incident two more complaints of an unknown male suspect entering residences were reported. The additional incident locations were 1421 South Broadway Street and 115
½ 17th Avenue West. Through the investigation it was learned the unlawful entries occurred on December 9, 2018 between approximately 4:20 AM and 5:00 AM.

The subject was described as a male, unknown ethnicity, unknown age, approximately six feet tall, slender build and wore dark clothing. The MPD is treating the three incidents as related and are actively seeking information from the public. Additionally, the MPD is not ruling out the possibility of the sexual assaults that were reported last spring as being related to the incidents of December 9, 2018.
The MPD is treating these incidents as a top priority and doing everything possible to find out who is responsible. In conclusion, the MPD reminds everyone to do the following:
Keep your residence doors and windows locked at night to discourage unlawful entry.

Keep exterior lights on and in good working order.

Additionally, if you see or hear suspicious activity in your neighborhood to immediately call 911 and report it to law enforcement. This is an active investigation and the MPD is seeking public assistance. If you or anyone you know has information related to these incidents please contact Investigator Kelly Pollock at 715-232-2198.
