A new bill may be going to the Wisconsin State Legislature that would direct the teaching of Hmong history and culture in Wisconsin schools. The La Crosse Tribune reports an initial bill was struck down in March but the La Crosse School Board recently backed a revised version of it and it plans to send it to the next legislative session.
La Cross Superintendent Randy Nelson says he believes the bill will pass this time and that he hopes people will see the need to respect the contributions of the Hmong people.
