A wrong way vehicle leads to a 3rd OWI arrest for a Chippewa Falls man. It happened heading into the weekend Friday evening when a report came in of a vehicle travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes on I-94 near exit 45.
Before the responding Trooper could get there, a crash occurred with a westbound vehicle. The struck vehicle was stalled in the lane of traffic and the other vehicle came to rest in the median. The Trooper observed that the operator of the wrong way vehicle, 52 year old Anthony Steves was showing signs of impairment and did indicated he had been drinking for a couple hours. Steves had two prior OWI’s and was arrested for a 3rd offense and also cited for fail to maintain control of vehicle and driving wrong way. The operator who was hit had some pain and was evaluated for those injuries.
