THE BUZZZZZZ ON RAIN TOTALS

Mother Nature’s hissy fit with the rain is now causing some travel headaches here on the ground. A highway in Eau Claire County is closed due to flooding.  Emergency management officials say Highway H is closed between Channey Forest Road and Roack Dam Road because of flooding on the bridge. We aren’t quite sure when we can expect the highway to reopen.

And about that rain-let’s talk numbers…Officials are reporting huge rain totals for the past three weeks.  Parts of the state got nearly 20 inches of rain during that period and it was still falling yesterday afternoon over much of central and southern Wisconsin.


Which is kicking up another problem. Mosquitos. Here’s the BUZZ on that:
The historic flooding across southern parts of our state is creating a mosquito problem.  The standing water is a breeding ground for the insects, which are flourishing in numbers similar to the early summer.
