WISCONSIN IS A DISASTER…LITERALLY

Governor Walker is declaring a state of emergency for the entire state. Walker issued an executive order yesterday declaring the entire state a disaster area after days of severe storms, heavy downpours, flooding, and tornadoes.  He thanked volunteers and emergency responders and said the state will provide tools and resources to help impacted communities.

And on that note, clean up is beginning in Vernon County after flooding caused destruction.  Governor Walker toured Vernon County to get a firsthand look at the damage left by storms earlier in the week.  The village of Coon Valley is one of the communities recovering from the storms over the last few days and was one of Walker’s first stops.  Walker declared the entire state a disaster area yesterday.

The stories continue to flood out: A man in Monroe County is safe after being rescued from his home by boat through his bedroom window.  Jordan Kerska lives in Leon and called 911 Tuesday morning when his house lifted off its foundation and tilted to the side because of flooding.  Crews were eventually able to get to him by pulling up to his bedroom window.
