We now know names of those involved in an officer stabbing over the weekend. It just before 10 on Saturday morning that officers responded to a call of a suspicious person on 90th Street near Highway 29. The caller said his brother, 35 year old Travis A Abbiehl was not taking his proper medication and was acting erratic.
Upon deputies’ arrival, they saw a male seated in a vehicle parked on 90th Street holding a knife, being harmful to himself. Deputies approached the vehicle after several attempts to communicate and the man charged and stabbed Sgt. Andrew Clark a 12 year veteran of the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, in the shoulder. Tasers were deployed twice before the Abbiehl was able to be taken into custody.
Clark was transported to a hospital, was treated, and is expected to recover from the injury. Travis Abbiehl is currently in custody facing numerous charges regarding the incident.
