Old blankets, broken lamps, and crusty containers? Sounds like it’s move out day! You may have seen those mountains of college memories forming around town as UW-Eau Claire students move out of residence halls, apartments, and houses.
But a problem is developing with the mess left behind. Sanitation companies say the issue comes up every year and students leave what they don’t want to take with them on the street to be picked up by workers. Landlords get charged for the pickups, a cost they often pass on to the students.
…who then just hand it off to good ol’ mom and dad.
