*** Governor Evers has issued an order effective March 25th at 8am (through April 24th) ceasing all non-essential business in the state, and a “Safer At home” order – meaning limit your travel to essential needs like going to the doctor, grabbing groceries, or getting medication.

Evers stated, “Workers providing essential care or services in our communities will be allowed to continue to travel to and from work. That includes folks like healthcare professionals, grocers, family caregivers, among other people whose work is critical for folks across our state.”

Food establisments can stay open for take-out or delivery service only. No seating or eating can take place at the restaurants

** Voting is considered an essential government function. To safeguard this important process and safety and well-being of election workers and residents, the City of Eau Claire Elections Office has set up drive-thru absentee voting in the parking lot of City Hall at 203 S. Farwell St. City of Eau Claire residents should enter the parking lot from Dewey Street only. There are a series of tents set up and staff who will guide voters through the process. Proper social distancing and cleaning guidelines will be strictly
adhered to.
Absentee Voting drive-thru is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through April 3, 2020. **

*Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has announced that the deadline for filing U.S. income taxes has been moved from April 15 to July 15.*

Support your local businesses during these tough times. If you feel uncomfortable coming in contact with a delivery person, many food delivery services and restaurants are now offering no contact/curbside pickup options.

Many local restaurants do not have their own delivery service, but offer delivery through DoorDash, GrubHub, EatStreet, etc. Give them your business through these services as Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers orders all restaurants close for dining.

We will do our best to keep information current, but as things are changing rapidly, please call ahead/check with the business directly to confirm they are still open and/or delivering.

Kids must be in the car in order to receive food. For example, if you want three meals, three children need to be in the vehicle.

Wanting to lend a hand? Many organizations are struggling to keep up with demand and need volunteers.

  • Volunteer Wisconsin provides a centralized location for organizations throughout the state to post information on projects addressing these needs and for people interested in helping others search for COVID-19 response projects in their local communities
  • Marshfield Health Clinic and HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire are taking donations of homemade fabric masks, they’ll also accept unopened boxes of gloves, and surgical and N95 masks.
    • In Eau Claire, masks can be dropped off at the Acoustic Cafe for Marshfield, and any Festival Foods location for HSHS Sacred Heart. HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital also accepts donations at the Chippewa Falls Family Fare locations.
    • For more drop-off locations for other Marshfield clinics across the Chippewa Valley, click here.
  • The Junior League of Eau Claire is urging people to donate diapers, as COVID-19 impacts the demand for the necessity. Through the local chapter of The Diaper Bank, a national donation network, The Junior League is specifically asking for large size child diapers. Because many of the donation locations have temporarily closed, Feed My People Food Bank has offered to collect the diapers for the time being. If you aren’t able to physically donate diapers, you can donate online through The Diaper Bank’s Facebook page.
