Excessive Window Tint Leads to OWI

Isaac Poferl, 32 years of age, from Fridley, Minnesota has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with four children in the vehicle under the age of 16.

A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for excessive window tinting on South Flowage Road near Wascott in Douglas County. Upon contact with the driver the Trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and observed signs of impairment.

He also noticed four minor children in the vehicle. A subsequent impaired driving investigation showed the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance.
The driver was arrested and transported to a local hospital where a legal blood draw was performed

before being transported to the Douglas County Jail. The minors in the vehicle, ages 11, five, four and three were turned over to a family member on scene. The driver was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia,
