The dog days of summer are going to the dogs in Chippewa Falls today.
The 17th annual Happy Tails Dog Swim takes over the Bernard F. Willi Outdoor Pool from 4 to 7 this afternoon, giving local pups a chance to cool off before the pool closes out its summer season.
Admission is five dollars per dog, while people without dogs can attend for free. Owners must bring proof of a current rabies vaccination, and while the dogs can take the plunge, their human companions are not allowed in the pool.
The outdoor pool is located at 1 Bridgewater Avenue, across from Irvine Park.
Proceeds from today’s swim benefit the Happy Tails Dog Park general fund.
If weather forces a postponement, the rain date is Tuesday from 4 to 7.
