Community festival season is in full swing, and shooting sports enthusiasts will have a couple of opportunities to test their skills in Boyceville this weekend.
The Northwest Rod and Gun Club is hosting its Cucumber Festival Trap Shoot Sunday, August 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the club on Range Road.
The event features 50 clay targets over two rounds, with 12- and 20-gauge shotguns available. Shooters age 12 and older and all skill levels are welcome. Eye and ear protection is required, and an old-fashioned barbecue chicken plate will also be available.
Also Sunday, the club is holding a 22-caliber pistol shoot fundraiser for the Boyceville Gun Club.
That event features reactive targets, with up to ten shots per round and five rounds for $20. Shooters can bring their own pistol or use one provided by the club. Ammunition is also available.
