A man charged with stealing an ambulance with a patient still inside has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
Benjamin Feltz got into the driver’s seat of the ambulance while crews were on a call in February at the 1400 block of 22nd Avenue South. Two paramedics were in the patient compartment with the patient at the time. Feltz began driving away and led police on a chase that lasted about 18-miles.
He’s facing multiple charges, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
