The City of Eau Claire is updating residents on the city’s water usage during this period of hot and dry weather.
Officials are reassuring residents that the city’s water system continues to meet current demand. The recent stretch of hot weather has significantly increased water use across the area. During this period, the city’s Water Treatment Plant has been pumping between 13 and 15 million gallons of water per day, which is around twice the average daily demand.
The increase is driven almost entirely by outdoor lawn watering.
