Authorities say more than 50 people are facing charges in connection with the March break-in at Ridglan Farms in Dane County.
Prosecutors say about 50 animal rights activists broke into the former beagle breeding facility, damaged property, and stole 22 beagles valued at more than 44-thousand-dollars. Four alleged leaders face additional charges, including burglary and felony damage to property. Investigators say the break-in was planned in advance and identified suspects using surveillance video, body camera footage, and social media posts.
Most of the defendants are scheduled to return to court in August.
