Steven Michael Kunze, 32 years of age, from Star Prairie, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.
On Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 1:20 PM a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper and Inspector stopped to assist a vehicle that broke down on the ramp at the Menomonie Safety Weight Enforcement Facility.
The Trooper observed signs of impairment and a subsequent investigation showed that the driver, Steven Michael Kunze from Star Prairie, WI, was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance with a minor passenger. Mr. Kunze was arrested and transported to the local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood. The 11-month-old child was released to an adult family member.
