Cleanup Continues After Storms

The chainsaws were out from Eau Claire to Kenosha after a line of strong and severe storms cut across the state. There are no reports of any serious injuries, but there are plenty of reports of damage.

The National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings as part of the storm system. There are flooded streets and downed power lines in many communities. Utilities in the state say tens of thousands of people lost power during the worst of the storms. The National Weather Service says teams will need a day or so to see just how bad the storms were.

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee confirms at least two tornadoes touched down in the state overnight.  The NWS says preliminary damage today rates a tornado that touched down near Concord in Jefferson County an EF1.  A second tornado that hit Waukesha County was measured an EF0.

Alliant Energy is reporting around 74-hundred customers still without power as of this afternoon.  Severe weather overnight caused outages from west of Kenosha up through the central area of the state.  Governor Evers has declared a state of emergency extending across all of Wisconsin, saying last night’s storms affected communities from the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan.
