Veto Pen Ready at WI Capitol

Add this to the list of doomed plans from Wisconsin lawmakers.

Both the Assembly and Senate yesterday approved a plan to withdraw the state from the federal government’s enhanced unemployment benefit program. Republicans in the legislature say the extra 300 dollars-a-week that the program provides is keeping too many people from returning to work. It will not become law, however. Governor Evers yesterday said he ‘can’t imagine’ signing it.
