WI Coronavirus Cases Hold Steady, Vaccinations Dip

Wisconsin’s coronavirus numbers are just about the same as last week, and the week before.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported a seven-day positivity average of just under three percent. That’s about where Wisconsin’s coronavirus count has been for weeks. DHS says there are just over eight thousand ‘active’ coronavirus cases in the state. So far, just over 97 percent of people who’ve ever tested positive for the virus have been declared fully recovered.

When it comes to the vaccination efforts, a little over one-in-three people in Wisconsin are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said just over two million people have now gotten both doses on the vaccine. Another two and a half million people have gotten at least one dose. But the state’s vaccine numbers are dropping. DHS says doctors and nurses handed-out just 225 thousand doses last week, that’s down 200 thousand doses from the state’s peak in early April.
