Colten Treu has taken the first step toward possibly going to trial for running down three Lake Hallie Girl Scouts back in 2018.
Treu formally asked to withdraw his guilty pleas in the case yesterday. His lawyers say Treu was never told that a guilty plea ended his chance at an appeal. Treu pleaded guilty to killing the girls and one of their mothers back in November of 2018. He is serving a 54-year sentence for the crimes.
