WI Coronavirus Cases Trend Down, Vaccine Rollout Continues

It’s the latest milestone number for Wisconsin’s coronavirus vaccination effort.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported that over 100 thousand people in the state have been fully vaccinated against the virus. Wisconsin has seen a slow rollout of the vaccine, and many people in the state’s first eligibility phase have not yet received their shots.

In all, DHS says doctors and nurses in the state have administered 544 thousand of the 846 thousand doses allocated to the state.

The last coronavirus snapshot in Wisconsin shows good news.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported just over a thousand new positives and a seven day positive-rate of just over five-percent. Those numbers are way down from one month ago. Overall, nearly 96-percent of the 517-thousand people who’ve tested positive for the virus in Wisconsin since March have fully recovered.

There are now fewer than 700 people in the hospital with the virus, that number was close to a thousand at this point last month.
