WI Begins Vaccinations for 65 and Older Population

People 65-and-older in Wisconsin will begin receiving COVID-19 vaccines today.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says that includes about 700-thousand people. They say the state currently gets about 70-thousand first-dose vaccines per week from the federal government. They say it could be a while before everyone in this population gets their first shot.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is inviting about 18-hundred faculty members to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The school announced this week they’ll begin making appointments for the vaccinations of any faculty member 65-and-older.
