WI Coronavirus Continues Downward Trend

Wisconsin’s coronavirus numbers have dropped again.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported just over a thousand new positives. Wisconsin’s seven-day positive average is now below eight-percent after it was over 11-percent at the beginning of the month. DHS says fewer than 900 people are hospitalized with the virus, that’s down more than 50 from just Sunday.

On the national level however, the story is different.

The coronavirus has killed more than 400-thousand Americans.  An NBC News tally shows the nation passed that mark early this morning, just short of one year since the first case was confirmed in Seattle.  Johns Hopkins researchers say the number of dead worldwide now tops two million, although the loss of life is worse here in the U.S. than anywhere else on Earth.  Health officials have long warned this winter was going to be the roughest part of the pandemic.
