Madison is committing 250-thousand-dollars toward the city’s Center for Black Excellence and Culture.
The to-be built center is supposed to go in at the Beltline and South Park Street. Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says the investment is a way to honor black business owners and entrepreneurs in Madison. Dane County has already committed over 800-thousand-dollars to the center. Planners hope to start raising private-sectors dollars sometime next year.
