WI COVID-19 Cases Climb, Evers Issues Mask Mandate

Health officials are reporting more new cases of COVID-19 throughout Wisconsin.

Officials say yesterday the total saw an increase of more than 64-hundred new cases of the virus, pushing it close to 345-thousand.  About 78 new deaths related to the virus were added to the death toll, which is close to reaching three-thousand.  Yesterday’s numbers marked the second straight day of decline for the positivity rate and new cases in the state.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is issuing a mask mandate.

Effective immediately, all residents over the age of five must wear a face mask whenever they’re indoors and in an enclosed space other than their private home.  Evers said the state continues to see record-setting days of COVID-19 cases and everyone needs to stay home, or wear a mask if you go out, as we need everyone’s help to stop the spread of the virus.

The governor’s public health emergency order and face mask mandate are set to expire in 60 days.
