WORKING OUT WHILE MASKED UP?

A local physician says wearing a mask while you work out could be a good idea.

Physician Assistant Andrew Brown with H-S-H-S Sacred Heart Hospital said working out increases the particles sent into the air around you because you’re breathing heavier. He said this presents a higher risk of contracting COVID-19, and it’s better to have a mask on to reduce that risk. He says people who don’t want to get sick should work out outside where a mask isn’t necessary or wait to work out until the pandemic winds down. 

Locally, Planet Fitness has included masks in their mandates. Other facilities, like GOLDS GYM has masks available for members, but does not require patrons to wear them.
