An audit of the Department of Workforce Development confirms problems in the payment of unemployment insurance benefits.
The Joint Legislative Committee released its findings today after completing a review of reported over payments from April 29th. The DWD reported that a malfunction in its information technology system resulted in the overpayment.
But the committee’s review indicates the department likely overpaid program benefits on April 29th as well. The DWD needs to determine how much was sent incorrectly and report back to the committee in a month.
