OFFICIALS URGE SAFETY MEASURES FOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Governor Tony Evers says public health is everyone’s issue in overcoming COVID-19.  The governor today said celebrating July 4th can put families, friends and neighbors at risk.  Evers reminds Wisconsinites that COVID-19 has not gone away and it is spreading across communities.

Meanwhile, the message is similar from health professionals. The Wisconsin Department of Health is urging people to stay home this holiday weekend.  Wisconsin has seen a spike in COVID-19 infections and many are caused by the spread of the virus at parties, barbecues, church and large social gatherings.

Officials say practicing social distancing is a must and wearing masks offers greater protection.
