WI COVID-19 CASES CLIMB, LOCAL UPDATES

State health officials are confirming now more than 26-thousand-330 positive COVID-19 cases across Wisconsin, as of the latest update. 

Since the onset of the pandemic, statewide 768 patients have died from the virus. As of the latest report Thursday, about 78-percent of those infected with the coronavirus have recovered.   

However, the state of Wisconsin is getting an F-plus grade for the way its handled the coronavirus outbreak in prisons.  The American Civil Liberties Union and the Prison Policy Initiative released a report Thursday analyzing states’ responses to the virus.  The report says nine states received D grades and every other state received F’s.  Wisconsin has over 270 confirmed coronavirus cases in its prisons.

Here locally, the Eau Claire City-County Health Department is alerting the public about potential COVID-19 exposure at two pubs in Eau Claire.  Anyone who was at these businesses on the given days and times and are experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus should get tested. 

The times and places include:

  • The Pickle on June 19th from 10:30 p.m. to midnight and June 20th from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. 
  • The other pub is She-nannigans on June 20th from midnight to 2:30 a.m. and June 21st from 1:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. 

Both establishments are cooperating with the public health investigations.
