WI MILK PRODUCTION DROPS

WI MILK PRODUCTION DROPS

Dairy farmers in Wisconsin are making less milk than a year ago.

The latest numbers from the USDA show a three percent drop in the number of pounds of milk that farmers have produced so far this year. Wisconsin is not the only dairy state to see a drop, California and New York also saw production fall. California continues to lead the nation in milk production. Wisconsin is a solid second.

On that note, there is a new Alice in Dairyland. Julia Nunes is from Chippewa Falls, she grew-up on her family farm milking Holstein cows. As part of her duties as Alice In Dairyland, Nunes will go to work for the Department of Agriculture for the next year.
