SLOW UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS SPEEDING UP FRUSTRATIONS

There is a growing frustration at the Wisconsin Capitol over the time it takes for people in the state to get unemployment benefits.

State Representative John Nygren yesterday suggested the state’s Department of Workforce Development pre-approve people who are likely to get an unemployment check. Nygren says the state currently does the same for people on Medicaid.

Nearly a half million people in Wisconsin have applied for unemployment benefits since the coronavirus outbreak began back in March.
