ALL (WASHED) HANDS ON DECK

ALL (WASHED) HANDS ON DECK

Some nursing students in Wisconsin could soon find themselves working on the frontline of the coronavirus outbreak.

The head of the state’s Board of Nursing is suggesting that Governor Evers waive some training requirements to get more nurses into the field. Board of Nursing director Peter Kallio says the state is in an ‘all hands on deck situation.’ The proposal would wave the final 25-percent of training hours for student nurses.

There’s also talk of changing the rules to allow retired nurses to come back to work during the outbreak as well.
