Monroe County is confirming its first case of COVID-19. The Monroe County Health Department yesterday said the man is in his 50s with no known exposure or contact with a confirmed case. The health department says the man is now isolated at home. Director Sharon Nelson says the county has been preparing for a confirmed case of COVID-19.
Western Technical College in La Crosse is donating supplies to help medical workers protect themselves from COVID-19. Dean of Health and Public Safety Kevin Dean says the school had left over supplies from several training programs that required medical equipment in the classroom.
Western has donated gloves, masks, gowns, eye glasses and cleaning supplies to local nursing homes, first responders, and hospitals. Western has also donated six ventilators to Gundersen and Mayo health systems.
