LAWMAKERS COULD THROW FLAG AT UNRULY PARENTS

It could soon cost parents and fans in Wisconsin a lot of money to heckle the ref.

The legislation that would make it more of a crime to harass or intimidate refs or umpires carries a 10 thousand-dollar fine. State Rep. Don Vruwink is pushing the idea. He says parents and fans often cross the line at high school sporting events. He says the idea is not to arrest or silence parents, rather he wants to stop the worst of the behavior on the sidelines.
