LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER FACING FELONY THEFT CHARGES

Prosecutors say one of the women who ran the non-profit that put-on Eau Claire’s dragon boat races stole 70 thousand-dollars.

The district attorney yesterday said Renelle Laffe [[ lay-ff ]] spent some of the money on a down payment for her home and to pay off an RV.  Police say Laffe paid back about half of what she took.  Laffe is free on a five thousand-dollar signature bond, she’s due back to face felony theft charges next month.
