FARMERS REACT TO TRUMP AID

FARMERS REACT TO TRUMP AID

Dairy farmers in Wisconsin say they’ll take their portion of 16-billion-dollars in aid from President Trump, but they’d rather have trade.

Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative President Brody Stapel yesterday said farmers in the state need the help to make ends meet.  But, Stapel said he’d rather have Congress approve a new trade agreement with Canada and Mexico, so that dairy farmers can grow their way out of their current slump.  The president announced the aid package yesterday as a way to offset the impact of his tariff tit-for-tat with China, Canada and Mexico.
