The market is shrinking for sand from Wisconsin that is used in the fracking process.
One industry expert says 75 percent of the mines in the state that provide sand to oil and gas companies could go bankrupt in the next years-or-so. New mines in Texas and Oklahoma have taken over the market. Wisconsin had been one of the nation’s leaders in frac sand mining.
