SESSION STATIC HEADS TO WI SUPREME COURT

Wisconsin’s Supreme Court is set to decide whether lawmakers in Madison can set their own schedule.  The court will hear arguments today from lawyers for the Wisconsin League of Women Voters who are challenging the entirety of last December’s extraordinary session at the Capitol.

The League says lawmakers cannot call themselves into session whenever they want, so all of the laws passed during that session are null and void.  Lawmakers say they specifically gave themselves the power to meet as they see fit.  They say there’s no constitutional question at all.
