WWII MARINE CORPS CAPTAIN IDENTIFIED

The remains of a World War Two Marine Corps captain have been identified. 

The agency responsible for accounting for POWs and those Missing in Action says today Captain Lester Schade of Abbotsford was accounted for officially in July of last year.  Schade was captured by enemy forces and held prisoner in the Philippines for more than two years.  During a transfer to Japan, the ship he was on was attacked and he was listed as missing and presumed dead in January of 1945.
